“Hunger knows no friend but its feeder”. - Aristophanes
The corona virus pandemic brought hunger to millions of people around the world. National lockdowns and social distancing measures dried up work and incomes, disrupted agricultural production and supply routes leaving millions to worry how they will get enough to eat.
“Instead of corona virus the hunger will kill us” were the words of a migrant worker.
We at YUG firmly believe that no person should have to sleep on an empty stomach, this motivated us to reach out to the underprivileged as the lockdown, which was preceded by the Janata Curfew as well as the restrictions imposed by the state government, leaves thousands without work, home and food.
Under the campaign Bhuk Mukt Pune we distributed around a 1000 meals each day throughout the lockdown to the homeless. Along with this, food grains are collected from different parts of the city and distributed in the form of ration kits amongst street dwellers, labors and needy ones.
We join hands and expect you to come along for this worthy cause.
*19,000+ families have benefited from the ration kit donation.
